Look Who's On My Tree

Dear Baby Charlie,

This is your very first Christmas . You have changed so much through out the year. Poppa and Diva love you so very much.

We were able to take a family picture with all of us in August. You were 8 months old. I love this picture of my big boy and when I found the Santa frame ornament I knew it would be perfect.

Diva loves Christmas and I always love decorating the tree every year. Part of the fun is pulling out ornaments and seeing how much all our grandchildren have changed. Just think how much you will grow and change by next year.

Know we love you very much and wish we could spend Christmas with you and Oz.

Your sweet Momma

Letter to my daughter on her birthday.

Dearest Suzy, Happy Birthday, Wonder Woman. Who knew that wearing Wonder Woman Underoos would be a self-full-filling prophecy? You truly have grown up to be a wonder woman.

I know you "wonder" if you'll ever get a full night's sleep. I know you "wonder" if you'll ever have a house with a backyard. I know you "wonder" how you'll ever get everything done. I know you "wonder" if you are a good mother. I know you "wonder" how things will turn out.

I wish you could see yourself through my eyes. You are a beautifully talented woman who is so creative, thoughtful, kind, and loving. You truly put others before yourself and worry about the smallest detail. You make every day an occasion to celebrate. Your smile brightens up the gloomiest day and your imagination is boundless.

I'm always amazed at the items you make from felt and your organizational skills are incredible. You get more done in a single day than anyone I know. If I could change just one thing about you it would be," to stop being so hard on yourself. " Perfection is not obtainable and it's really hard to live with people who are never satisfied no matter how well things turn out.

If I could challenge you with just one thing it would be, "to cherish this time." You'll never get it back and as hectic as it is you'll look back on it and miss it.

If I could charge you with one thing it would be, "don't listen to all the negative talk or take it personally". There will always be people around you that will criticize you or try to belittle you. Don't listen, don't become discouraged, and don't dwell on it.

You truly are Wonder Woman. You make everyone wonder how you come up with all these clever ideas. You make your husband wonder how he ever got so lucky to be married to the most wonderful woman on the planet. You make your parents wonder how they ever got so blessed to be grandparents of two active little boys. You make your friends wonder how they got along without you in their life. I love you Baby Girl

Whoopee Pies for your 2 month birthday

Oh my goodness, Where has my baby gone?                                                                                                 You are two months old now and looking completely different from the infant I knew just a month ago. Awww, just look at that sweet face.
Following the tradition of having a monthly party (for the first year), this was your Sesame Street party. Looks like lots of characters showed up to celebrate including Uncle Andy and Sweet Rachel.

Your Mommy made colorful Whoopie Pies ....blue and green which were a big hit with the guests. I know Poppa started smacking his lips just thinking about them.

Wish we could have joined the celebration. Happy 2-month birthday baby Charlie. We love you and pray for you every single day.

Be sweet to your Momma and Daddy and let them sleep a little longer at night. (Just a thought).

Hugs to your big brother Oscar.

We miss you.
XOXO

your remarkable mom

Baby Charlie (at one month) makes an adorable Cupid.

Oscar as Cupid (age 4 months)

These are pictures of our adorable grandsons. They are dressed as Cupid and their very talented Mother has made a kit for other moms that would also like to dress their babies for Valentine's Day. She submitted her idea to "ReMarthable Ideas" from the Martha Stewart Show and was featured yesterday on the Martha Stewart Show as well as being featured on her website. Congratulations Suzy we are so proud of you!

Hello Sweet Baby Charlie

Happy New Year and Happy Arrival!

Hello 2011.....We've been waiting for you. The new year brings new challenges, new hopes, new dreams and the long awaited arrival of you

Poppa and I arrived the week before your arrival. Your mom gets really tired now and was excited about going to hospital on January 7th for her surgery and your birthday. Your mom and dad left really early that morning to go to the hospital. Oscar, Poppa and I waited at home praying and waiting for the phone to ring.

Uncle Andy wanted to go to the hospital with us, so all of us headed to the hospital in the snowstorm. Poppa bought a balloon so Oscar could give it to you ( his new baby brother) and Uncle Andy brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers for your Mommy.

We were able to see you in the recovery room as your Mommy hadn't been assigned a room yet. Our first visit was brief but all of us got to hold you, kiss your sweet cheek and Oscar got his first look at his new brother.

Poppa and Diva stayed with Oscar while you were in the hospital. Oscar looked forward to seeing all of you but it was hard on him when it was time to go home.

Your Mommy did beautifully and was able to come home a day early. Oscar is a good big brother and very careful not to touch your eyes. On his second visit to the hospital he was able to briefly hold you all by himself. In this picture, Oscar is introducing himself and is telling you "This is my nose".

Baby Charlie, your official name is Charles Elliot Bomgardner. You are named Charles after both grandfathers.

This grandfather Charlie (Poppa) thinks you are a fine looking boy. He gets a little misty when he looks at you knowing that you and he share the same name. I know Poppa is already thinking about all the things he wants to teach you and all the robots he wants to build for you and your brother.

I'm thinking seriously of calling baby you"Chip" as a pet name. Since you are not your Poppa but a "chip" off the original old block.

Just at thought.....Welcome to our world, our family and our hearts Baby Charlie.

Know that you just fit in our arms and you have already found a permanent place in our hearts. You need to know that we pray for you every single day and will always be here for you.

Welcome Home Baby Charlie.

Your Diva and Poppa

XOXOXO
