Happy Fall Y"all

Dear Sweet Boy....One thing I adore about you is you are a free spirit.  You love to play in the fall leaves and scatter them to the wind.  This picture always makes me smile and I want to join you running and rolling in the leaves.

Oscar has a great idea too.  Throw the leaves in the air and let them scatter.  I like to make a big pile of leaves  then go scatter them all over the yard.  Poppa doesn't like me to do that since he is the one that usually rakes the leaves in the pile.  It takes us a lot longer to rake and bag the leaves because Diva loves to play in them so much.

This was Henry's first experience in the leaves.  He thinks he is just as big as his brothers.  Thank you for teaching him how fun it is to play in the fall leaves.  Your Mommy and Daddy took some wonderful pictures of my guys.

You are Diva's heart and remind me so much of your Poppa.  You have his grin and certainly have me wrapped around your little finger.   We pray for you every single day and know that you grow up to be a kind , strong, Godly man like your Daddy and your Poppa and Grandpa.

I mustache you

Hello Baby Charlie,

I'm not going to get to call you that for much longer as very soon you will be the "big brother".  Today you are turning 2 years old.  It has been a very busy time this past few months with Uncle Andy's and Auntie Rachel's wedding in November in Texas and Christmas time.  Your Mommy and Daddy have been working very hard to paint, stain floors, and unpack boxes  to get your home  just right for your family. Little Brother Henry will be born this week and your family will never be the same again.  You will be a family of three very active Bomgardner boys and Poppa and I can hardly wait. Your  very sweet Mommy wanted to celebrate your birthday.  So I have been helping her with a mustache party.  Mommy made the birthday cake to look like a big mustache.  Silly Mommy.  Everyone got to pick a mustache to wear during the party as well as in the photo booth.  Aren't the decorations amazing?  What a clever Mommy you have.

I must say Charlie boy, you look really good with a mustache.  Isn't Mommy funny to put a mustache on the chocolate milk?   If you ever look back on these post and have a mustache you'll have to compare pictures .  Your Poppa had a mustache for about 12 years.  He really liked it but it made Diva's face all red and itchy because it was coarse and scratchy.  I told him it was like kissing a broom so one day for my birthday he shaved it off.  Uncle Andy had never seen your Poppa without a mustache he so was really surprised when he saw him .  He almost didn't recognize him!

Well, Charlie Bear, what do you think of Diva's mustache?  Is it me?  You will notice it matches my hair.   Do I look like I could join the circus?  I could be the mustache lady!  Poppa couldn't be at your party but will be here this weekend to help take care of you and Oz while Mommy and Daddy are the hospital .

Look at funny Mommy and Oscar.  Who has the better mustache?  Do you like Oscar's glasses.  Daddy invited his coworkers at ASP to come to your party.  They liked wearing mustaches too!

Daddy had the best mustache even without adding a fake one.  Mommy made your birthday shirt.  It was a fun party.  You had a really good time .

Diva and Poppa have been so blessed to have you in our family for two whole years.  You have made us smile, laugh and give the best kisses and hugs.  We love you so much and know that this will be a really big change in your life.  I know you will be an awesome big brother.

Know we love you and will always be there for you.  Happy Birthday my big two year old birthday boy.

My boys

It's been a while since I've posted some pictures of my boys.  They have been growing especially Charlie Bear.   His eyes have turned a beautiful brown just like his Poppa's, his Daddy, and his Uncle Andy.  He had long eyelashes just like big brother Oscar.  Just like most little brothers, he wants to be where ever big brother is and play with whatever he is currently playing with.  Sharing is overrated at times so there is occasionally conflicts and loud vocal complaints and screeches. Charlie is getting really chatty on the phone.  so much so his Mommy has to chase him down to get the phone away from him so we can talk.  Charlie gives me open mouth kisses, and his whole face lights up when he sees Poppa.

Oscar will be 4 in September and is getting ready for preschool.  He has gorgeous blue eyes like his Diva and his Mommy and the longest eyelashes I've ever seen. He loves anything with wheels, trains, building, cooking with daddy, and books.  He is a good big brother (most days) and very opinionated about his clothing and food.  He definitely makes life interesting and gives great hugs.

Crayola Factory

Dear Charlie Bear,

Your Poppa and Diva took a vacation with you, Oz and your Mommy and Daddy.  We met up with your family and went to the Crayola Factory in Pennsylvania.

We had a really good time watching you and Oz playing with clay, crayons and all the attractions.  It was a really hot day in July and there were lots of children all over the building.

We ate lunch at McDonalds at the Crayola Factory. You liked looking at the picture of Ronald McDonald on the wall.  You really wanted Daddy's attention and his french fries.

You enjoy coloring but weren't too sure when we encouraged you to draw on walls and on cars.  You are looking at me like you are about to say, "No more pictures Diva".

Later that afternoon we went to a Fair and you shared my sweet potato fries.  We were all hot and tired by the time we got back to our hotel.  Poppa and Daddy took you and Oscar swimming in the hotel pool.

Just wanted you to know that your Poppa loves you very much because he doesn't like to go swimming but knew you and Oscar really wanted to go.

We love spending time with you.  You are changing so rapidly.  You really aren't a baby any more and you make us laugh .  Remember that you are loved so much.

Easter in a Small Town

Dear Charlie Bear,

Life in a small town like New Hope can be really fun.  Poppa and I were so glad to have you and Oz with Mommy and Daddy spend Easter with us in Virginia.

We live in a little town called New Hope.  Every year the Fire Department has an Easter Egg Hunt in the field behind it..  This was your first hunt.

They had lots of activities for you to do.  You liked checking out the fire trucks.  You especially liked the wheels because you could see your reflection in them.

The firemen let you get up in the truck and even sound the siren.  You were also able to get inside the ambulance.  The firemen had cookies to decorate and games.  You, me and Mommy colored an Easter bunny picture while the big kids hunted eggs.  They had a special hunt for little ones like you so you didn't get run over by bigger boys and girls.
Here is the picture that you are thinking about coloring.  Did you know that your Mommy is very good at coloring.  You liked taking off the paper on the crayons and even tried to eat them.  Easter cookies taste better!  So does the candy in the plastic eggs.  When it was your turn to hunt Easter Eggs you would pick one up and go give it to the Easter Bunny.  What a good sharer you are!

This is a picture of you and your Poppa.  You and Poppa are my two favorite Charlie's.  I hope you know how very much your Poppa loves you little man.  You are definitely a chip off the old block.  I pray that you will grow up to be as kind and as wise as your Poppa.

Know that Poppa and Diva love you very much and pray for you every single day.

Tickle Bug

Hello Sweet Boy,

This is one of Diva's favorite pictures.  We are at Gypsy Hill Park and it was a really pretty day.  Your sweet Mommy took this picture and your hands are up in a tickle position because she was tickling you to make you laugh.  You are such a tickle bug.  Poppa and I love you so very much.  I hope you will always have a big smile for me as you continue to grow. Diva will always have smiles for you.

Your Diva,

xoxo

Easter and Ice Cream

Hello Love,

Today is Easter Sunday and we spent it at Gypsy Hill Park with you, Oz and your Mommy and Daddy.  I love this picture of you as a "Junior Easter Bunny".  You liked your Easter Basket as it had lots of colorful toys, eggs, and marshmallow treats for you.

You really liked the park with the "Tot Lot" that had swings and toys to ride that were just your size.  The weather was perfect and it was really pretty in the park with all the dogwoods  and flowers blooming.

I really like this picture of us.  Poppa and I love you so very much and we are amazed at all the new words you have and how quickly you can walk. Poppa is really pleased that you can say "Poppa", you call my "Dee ba".  What a smarty you are.

You love my kitties "JJ" and "Lucy".  You love to pet them and you were very gentle with them.  You laid on top of "JJ" and patted his head.  He acted like he didn't like it but he was looking for you the day you left.

You like bread so you were pretty mad when your Mom made you drop it into the water to feed the fish and ducks.  The ducks and fish loved swimming after the food. We thought it would make you laugh but you were still mad about  losing the bread.  I like this picture of you with your whole family.  (You still have a tight grip on that piece of bread!)

After we played at the park we took everyone to Willy's.  It is my favorite ice cream place in Waynesboro.  Oz and I got a vanilla soft cone with rainbow sprinkles.  You shared a plain vanilla cone with your Dad.  I'm so glad you like ice cream.  It was so much fun.

I hope you know just how much your Poppa and I love you and your brother.  We look forward to your visits and your hugs.  You made Easter a very special celebration for us this year.

Poppa and I pray for you every single day that you will grow up to be a good and godly man with little boys of your own some day.    We love you.
