Happy Birthday Charlie

Dearest Baby Charlie,

Happy First Birthday. You have changed so much in the last year. You can now walk (very fast) sit up, stand, and you love to feed yourself with finger foods. You are quick to "steal" your brothers unattended graham crackers, and juice. You "light up" with the biggest grins when ever you see your Mommy or Daddy. Whenever you give me those smiles I melt into a big ole puddle of goo.

Your vocabulary increases almost on a daily basis. You can say "Mama" "Dada" "Kitty" "Dewa" and "kach kach". As you can see by this picture you also discovered toilet paper and found out how much fun it can be to unroll all over the bathroom floor.

You love to screech loudly for attention. You have long eye lashes and the cutest smile. You have a very round head and wispy hair. You love to cuddle your stuff elephant or stuff doggy in your bed. It's so cute to watch you reach for your favorite bedtime friend. You have six teeth now and your momma is sure you will have more shortly.

You are one tough little guy. Your big brother likes you, but can sometimes play too rough. You love his attention and his toys and go looking for him whenever he leaves the room. You are naturally curious and very quick.

Your Poppa and I are excited to see how much you will change this year. Know that we love you and pray for you every single day. We love spending time with you and watching you grow and change from a baby to an active toddler.

You have the most kissable head!!

Happy Smash Cake, Before and After

BEFORE:  This is your birthday Cake.  It is in the shape of a gear with one Candle.  You were getting tired by the end of the party and weren't to sure what to do with the cake.  It didn't take you too long to find out that it tasted pretty good.

AFTER:
You are wearing quite a bit of frosting.  You really didn't like having the sticky frosting on your hands.  Happy Birthday Big Boy.  You were well celebrated.

Cutest Robot ever!

Hello Sweetie,

I love this picture of you as a robot.  Your mommy decorated your nursery in Robots so it is only natural that your first birthday celebration would feature robots.    Your wonderful Mommy had robot displays all over the apartment.

For party games she had all your guest make robots.  We had some small wind up robots so we had robot races too.  There was even a picture booth that your guest could get their picture taken looking like a robot.  There was plenty of food, laughter and fun.

Diva and Poppa came early to help with the party.  Poppa entertained you and Oz so your Mommy, Daddy and Diva could work on decorations and food.  Poppa is a good reader and a good Lego builder.  Your Poppa is a very smart man.  He has a degree in Engineering Physics.....(you will have to ask him what that means!)  Poppa has lots of knowledge on all sorts of topics so take all your questions to him dearest.

Diva is not nearly as crafty as your sweet Mommy.  We did most of our work after you and your brother were sleeping.  Mommy took lots of pictures and worked so hard to give you the best first birthday party ever.

You are one greatly loved little man.  We love to be a part of your "firsts".  Know that we love you more every day and that we pray for you every single day.

Your Diva

Look Who's On My Tree

Dear Baby Charlie,

This is your very first Christmas . You have changed so much through out the year. Poppa and Diva love you so very much.

We were able to take a family picture with all of us in August. You were 8 months old. I love this picture of my big boy and when I found the Santa frame ornament I knew it would be perfect.

Diva loves Christmas and I always love decorating the tree every year. Part of the fun is pulling out ornaments and seeing how much all our grandchildren have changed. Just think how much you will grow and change by next year.

Know we love you very much and wish we could spend Christmas with you and Oz.

Your sweet Momma

Letter to my daughter on her birthday.

Dearest Suzy, Happy Birthday, Wonder Woman. Who knew that wearing Wonder Woman Underoos would be a self-full-filling prophecy? You truly have grown up to be a wonder woman.

I know you "wonder" if you'll ever get a full night's sleep. I know you "wonder" if you'll ever have a house with a backyard. I know you "wonder" how you'll ever get everything done. I know you "wonder" if you are a good mother. I know you "wonder" how things will turn out.

I wish you could see yourself through my eyes. You are a beautifully talented woman who is so creative, thoughtful, kind, and loving. You truly put others before yourself and worry about the smallest detail. You make every day an occasion to celebrate. Your smile brightens up the gloomiest day and your imagination is boundless.

I'm always amazed at the items you make from felt and your organizational skills are incredible. You get more done in a single day than anyone I know. If I could change just one thing about you it would be," to stop being so hard on yourself. " Perfection is not obtainable and it's really hard to live with people who are never satisfied no matter how well things turn out.

If I could challenge you with just one thing it would be, "to cherish this time." You'll never get it back and as hectic as it is you'll look back on it and miss it.

If I could charge you with one thing it would be, "don't listen to all the negative talk or take it personally". There will always be people around you that will criticize you or try to belittle you. Don't listen, don't become discouraged, and don't dwell on it.

You truly are Wonder Woman. You make everyone wonder how you come up with all these clever ideas. You make your husband wonder how he ever got so lucky to be married to the most wonderful woman on the planet. You make your parents wonder how they ever got so blessed to be grandparents of two active little boys. You make your friends wonder how they got along without you in their life. I love you Baby Girl

Whoopee Pies for your 2 month birthday

Oh my goodness, Where has my baby gone?                                                                                                 You are two months old now and looking completely different from the infant I knew just a month ago. Awww, just look at that sweet face.
Following the tradition of having a monthly party (for the first year), this was your Sesame Street party. Looks like lots of characters showed up to celebrate including Uncle Andy and Sweet Rachel.

Your Mommy made colorful Whoopie Pies ....blue and green which were a big hit with the guests. I know Poppa started smacking his lips just thinking about them.

Wish we could have joined the celebration. Happy 2-month birthday baby Charlie. We love you and pray for you every single day.

Be sweet to your Momma and Daddy and let them sleep a little longer at night. (Just a thought).

Hugs to your big brother Oscar.

We miss you.
XOXO

your remarkable mom

Baby Charlie (at one month) makes an adorable Cupid.

Oscar as Cupid (age 4 months)

These are pictures of our adorable grandsons. They are dressed as Cupid and their very talented Mother has made a kit for other moms that would also like to dress their babies for Valentine's Day. She submitted her idea to "ReMarthable Ideas" from the Martha Stewart Show and was featured yesterday on the Martha Stewart Show as well as being featured on her website. Congratulations Suzy we are so proud of you!
